Hello and welcome!
A round of applause if you have survived August and a moment of silence to those who, unfortunately, aren’t here with us. We have four months left in this hellhole we call 2020. Thank you to our August readers both new and old for sticking with us throughout these nerve-wracking times.
Looking back to August, we can’t help but sigh at the bittersweet moments we’ll be leaving behind. However, there are just as many problems that will decide to tag along. One of them is ensuring the safety of our Namibian women and girls. It’s beyond frustrating that as women (especially), have to live in constant fear of our lives but ey, we are doing it every day it seems. Unless the nation collectively takes action to make Namibia a safe and peaceful place for the girl child again.
What’s the way forward?
It is unfortunate that the COVID-19 cases are swiftly rising throughout the country. Therefore, we urge you to be deliberate and intentional in keeping yourself and your surroundings safe and clean. Covid-19 is not a death sentence, but don’t be immature enough to challenge it. It’s the basic steps that we’ve memorized like lyrics to our favourite songs that will help us get the December we’re all praying for.
We will soon be entering a new season; let’s prepare ourselves to shed the scars of Winter and step into Spring with new skin that represents new hopes and dreams and goals for the remainder of the year. Let’s hold hands ‘virtually’ and encourage each other to make the best of September- the Monday of all months. Whatever may come at us this month should be taken with diligence and fierceness. After all, it’s not a bad life, it’s a bad year.
Finally, the team would like to use this opportunity to apologize for how Jewellery That Best Suits Your Skin Tone came across as passive-aggressive, especially to our darker skin readers. We have noticed our mistake and we sincerely apologise. We will continue to listen to our audience and do better for us all. Please feel free to share concerns with us.
Bless up,
